Four Freedom Foundation
The state park’s location is surrounded by supporting monumentality to the freedom at its vistas. One World Trade Center, a symbol of freedom from fear after terrorist attacks 911, and the UN HeadQuarters, that aims to maintain international peace & security. Roosevelt insisted that people in all nations of the world share Americans' entitlement to our four freedoms: the freedom of speech and expression, freedom to worship god in his own way, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. The gateway to the state park serves as a transitional memorial space. This transitional space and gateway plays tribute to the four freedoms as it frames, directs, and enhances the significance of the memorial to the founding freedoms.
