Scholarships and Awards
The Hillier College of Architecture and Design has established a robust program of awards and scholarships.
At the Hillier College of Architecture and Design
The program is administered through the College and awards are distributed annually at the Awards Ceremony and at Graduation. They are based on Leadership and Service, Academic Excellence, and Design Excellence. There are also both need and merit-based scholarships to be awarded to incoming first year students. HCAD Portfolio Prizes are awarded to the best creative work portfolios submitted during the application process to the School of Architecture and School of Art + Design upon enrollment. Awards are made possible through the generosity of our patrons, many of whom are graduates of the College. Some are bequests of individuals and others are provided by design firms located in the state. Many are accompanied with a guarantee of employment.
At the New Jersey Institute of Technology
As a state funded institution, NJIT offers extremely competitive tuition and fees for both undergraduate and graduate education. In addition, financial aid is available to students in a variety of forms. At NJIT, financial aid typically refers to undergraduate awards that are offered based on financial need, merit, or both. The offer of any combination of awards is calculated based on the information a student provides on the FAFSA. Specifically, the financial aid package is determined by the Cost of Attendance (COA), Expected Family Contribution (EFC), and financial need. As a recipient of undergraduate financial aid, a student can receive a combination of grants, scholarships, education loans, and student employment (work-study). Graduate financial support is offered through the Office of Graduate Studies, not through Student Financial Aid Services.
