I am extremely overwhelmed with joy to know I will be accomplishing a life-long dream of graduating with a BARCH from NJIT. My time here has had a huge impact on my knowledge and has grown my love for architecture. I cannot wait to start my professional career, but I know I could not have made it this far without the support of my parents and my sister. I am grateful for the professors I have had the pleasure of learning from and for believing in my talent as a young architect. I am grateful for the friends I have made in the studios of HCAD as well as my second family in Alpha Rho Chi. I am looking forward to what is yet to come!
Block 63 Post Pandemic Options
Block 63 serves as a crossroads between the locals, students, and visitors to the Newark area. A careful consideration of the massing on the site was made to take advantage of the solar orientation as well as to accommodate the existing street conditions that surround block 63. The podium for the residential towers emphasizes openness with visual connections between residents, retail, and commercial spaces to pedestrians. The housing part of the project was an exploration for the integration of more outdoor spaces through the implementation of private terraces, balconies, and communal rooftop spaces. Within the units there is a private division of work space from living space. Both serve as solutions for the challenges faced during the COVID-19 Pandemic that has affected us all.
