Designed to display the work of the instagram, @humansofny, the Humans of New York Museum and Pier encourages human interaction through discreet moments of overlap. Inspired by the melancholic industrial past of Greenpoint, the pier wraps around a rectangular building emerging from the river. The pier is a 5ft wide walkway which allows both a direct access to the ferry landing, as well as a circuitous path with green spaces and views into the museum. Within the museum, the humans are as much part of the exhibit as the photograph and stories themselves.
