As a 24-year-old who migrated to the United States in 2009, I am filled with pride and joy as I reflect on my academic journey. My family and friends have been a constant source of support, providing unwavering encouragement and belief in my dreams. I am forever grateful for their love and guidance. Despite the challenges I have faced, I have remained steadfast in my pursuit of excellence. I am proud of the person I have become, and I know that the obstacles I have overcome have only made me stronger and more resilient. I am now graduating with a Master of Architecture degree, in 2020! It is my aspiration to design and plan spaces that inspire, uplift, and make a positive impact on the world. I am filled with gratitude and humility. Alhamdulillah. I am excited to see where my professional journey takes me next!
Four Freedom Foundation
One of my favorite projects is the Four Freedom Foundation, located on Roosevelt Island, which pays tribute to the tenets articulated in Franklin D. Roosevelt's message of Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Worship, Freedom from Want, and Freedom from Fear. Situated amid the pre-existing Historic Land and Smallpox Hospital, the museum's location is poised to be visible from both Manhattan and Queens. The 70' x 400' footprint of the structure is thoughtfully designed to integrate with the surrounding context and its distinctive characteristics. The architectural design fosters a strong sense of community and presence, offering numerous opportunities for engagement and varied spatial experiences.
