Newark’s Lincoln Park has evolved from a fashionable residential district in the late 19th century, to a locus for medical offices, and then substance abuse rehabilitation clinics as the area experienced decline in the late 20th century. Today Lincoln Park is being redeveloped as an arts district, spearheaded by Lincoln Park/Coast Cultural District, Inc., where Prof. Schuman serves as Board President and faculty members have conducted five design studios. Examples of the most recent student work can be found under the Lincoln Park Music Village project page. Photo: M. Gosser.
