CoAD's Zeynep Celik Wins the Competitive NEH Fellowship
Zeynep Celik, PhD, distinguished professor in the NJIT College of Architecture and Design, has won a highly competitive National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship, 2012-13. Celik’s project, entitled “Empires and Antiquities: Appropriating the Past,” will be a comparative study of the claims to the past through possession of antiquities in London, Paris, Berlin, New York, and Istanbul around 1900, by placing the Ottoman capital, and its new museum, at the center. The goal of the NEH Fellowship is “to support individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both.”
