Originally an old building for the organization of Advocates for Children of New Jersey in Newark is redesigned to hold adult classes, after-school enrichment classes, public art events and much more. The interior is mostly monochromatic with the main concepts of open space, as seen in the gallery, as well as geometry and natural light. The limited color palette allows for the structure and the students’ artwork to have the main spotlight. The geometry adds a sense of organization and balance as it takes inspiration from building blocks (vertically) and follows a grid pattern (horizontally). The idea is to make the geometry of the design stand out. View the video here.
