The dynamic and intricate world of architecture has captivated my mind since I saw works of Antoni Gaudi in a book given to me as a gift for my 18th birthday. Combined with my early fascination with Gothic Architecture, I was enthusiastic about applying inspirations from those timeless masterpieces in architecture of today, which seemed very minimalistic. Coming from another discipline (Bachelor of International Affairs and Economics), it was a long road to learn and understand the world of Architecture. In my projects, I was constantly interested in geometric explorations and extraordinary possibilities of what the new space could be, never limiting my designs only with existing site conditions, yet always putting in effort for respecting them. The Peak at NJIT
The Peak is a visual embodiment of NJIT as a university with a strong scientific focus. Striving to establish a strong research facility with a purpose, this project recognizes the future deviation that climate change may bring and offers the opportunity to study it. The form originated as an organic shape of iceberg serves as a constant reminder of climate change. Cascading roofscape inside is lined with a green program, providing interior garden spaces for visitors and climate research.
