Vicky Sherman
Graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture degree and a minor in Sustainability, I hope to use the skills I’ve developed to start a nonprofit organization specializing in urban housing projects. I wish to further my education in the near future by studying abroad, eventually receiving a Master of Architecture degree. For the moment I have decided to focus on completing my NCARB requirements and strengthening my portfolio for future employment.
Traditional housing mixed with micro units
This project was chosen as one of my favorites not only because aesthetically this project was one of my best works here at Hillier College, but because I had the opportunity to design this project with two of my closest colleagues. This housing project focused on traditional housing mixed with micro units typology, designed to demonstrate a non-gentrified housing proposal located in Flatbush, NY. Originally slated for submission to compete in the NOMAS Fall Competition, when the designers decided collectively as a group not to participate, we decided instead to join a private competition that focused on micro units in New York. This was by far the least stressful yet most innovative and successful project completed during my time at NJIT.
