Looking back, I was not sure if I would come back to get my Master’s within the next year or two. I’ve always imagined coming back much later, but with everything that has happened, I am happy to say it was the right choice going right after graduating with my Bachelors. This year alone, I believe I was able to further educate myself on different aspects of architecture and urban design. Exposed to great instructors and fellow students, it was unbelievable the amount of things I was able to learn. And, although I am fairly known as quiet and shy to talk, I think this past year I spoke more in classes than I typically would of. Overall, another year at NJIT has blown by and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here with everyone.
Seth Boyden 2050: Vertical Farm
The Seth Boyden Vertical Farm aims to increase local access to fresh, locally grown, affordable and nutritious food. Inspired by the success of other local urban vertical farms, this project focuses on, not only food production, but job opportunities and job training for various experience levels. In addition, the vertical farm in Seth Boyden works to integrate agricultural efforts with community involvement via educational opportunities for local families. With a dual focus of equitable access to community engagement and job opportunities, this project also focuses on strengthening the community by sustainably growing nutritious and affordable food for Newark while improving the environment and lives of locals.
