I am a 5th year Architecture student exploring opportunities to gain new experiences, diversify my background, and engage the urban environment. My proficient skills are in Rhino 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, Model Making, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. My experience as a Student Mentor, and Founding Treasurer of the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS) has allowed me to prove myself a profound leader among multiple communities.Throughout history, good Architecture has captured the culture of how the people of tomorrow seek to live. My ambition is to foster a culture that addresses the social, and environmental climate, through my built work.
Lincoln Park: The Connected Coast
Lincoln Park was a Cultural hub for Jazz and art in the 1950’s and 60’s. In an effort to visualize it’s redevelopment, we decided to use 3 strategies for the future of this park and the neighborhood: 1 - Create a community for equitable sustained living. We want to improve the livelihood of the residents with increased social services, feeling of safety, and healthy food options. 2 - Create connections at different scales. By making a network of interactions, different groups of people will be able to form relationships within the neighborhood. 3 - Create a respite from economic development in downtown Newark. With North Broad Street seeing business and technology development, Lincoln Park can stimulate cultural activity through art programs and using undervalued lots.
