A graduate willing to apply her skills and passion towards architecture to improve redevelopment and housing conditions. Working towards becoming a licensed professional to open a firm which will specialize in housing in NJ and NY. A professional who is dedicated, ambitious, and persistent. With such little time at NJIT, many long lasting friendships formulated, professors became mentors.Very grateful for all the experiences and memories. Here are some of my highlights : 4 years, 76 all nighters, 3,229 NCARB internship hours, 8 awards, 2 years left for my wedding day, 1 of 5 student ambassadors to represent NJIT at the Solar Decathlon in China, 0 regrets.
A Walk to Freedom
A walk through freedom began with the simple process of subtraction and the form between solids and voids. Considering the existing conditions, the building is designed to use the fluidity of the ground floor circulation throughout the building, into a direct pathway. The pathway transforms into a street within an enclosed escalator. It lets the users circulate in and out of exterior and interior spaces and becomes a viewing platform, permitting the users to view southern aspects in an enclosed area versus viewing the Northern conditions in an open patio. Outdoor spaces become a threshold making the building porous and permitting the surrounding monuments and buildings to be seen at all times. The West is the stationary end, where the people arrive and have the least amount of transitional change, the galleries were placed in the East to correlate with the artistic, cultural city.
