I am super proud to be part of the graduating class of 2021 at NJIT with a degree in Interior Design and a minor in Sustainability and Environmental Studies Design. I will always cherish the moments I had with my peers there past four years and would like to thank each of them for their constant love and support throughout my journey. This past year has been very tough for me but it has taught me to be a more resilient individual. I am lucky to have friends and family who constantly remind me to always work my hardest even through my toughest times. HCAD was my home for most of my time at NJIT and it’s hard to say goodbye to all the connections I made here. I’d like to congratulate the graduating class of 2021 and wish everyone good luck! Hôtel à la Maison
This is a boutique hotel within the Krueger Scott Mansion that celebrates the history of entrepreneurship and family. This hotel caters to business professionals seeking forms of relaxation after a long day at work and families who wish to visit students at the schools in the area. The amenities of this hotel reflects the appreciation for physical wellness and pampering from Louise Scott of the Krueger Scott family. I accompanied my inspiration from the krueger scott entrepreneurial practices with design decisions from the existing architecture of Newark Penn Station. I found that this art deco style building was made with materials like limestone, brass, and terrazzo along with features like rounded arches, industrial materials and decorative panels can complement the existing materials of the Krueger Scott Mansion.
