These past five years have been very tough and at times I felt like giving up, but I am glad I finished the program. It has been amazing to be a part of the HCAD community, and meet friends that will last a lifetime. Being a part of this community has helped me through tough times, while having a great experience and learning. I am glad to have been given a platform that allowed me to push myself and create work that I am proud of. I am now leaving NJIT with professional skills that will last me a lifetime, friendship that I will cherish, and the bonds of being part of the athletics department. Four Freedoms’ Monument Museum
The four essential human rights in the Four Freedoms Speech are Fear, Want, Speech and Worship. These four elements will be distributed throughout the Museum. You will be able to visualize and internalize these elements. These four human rights will be interpreted through the amount of light and size of the rooms, while protecting the artwork. As the Gallery's get bigger the amount of light will decrease. You will also experience different ceiling conditions throughout the Galleries. When you are in the smaller rooms the ceiling conditions make you feel and physically see how enclosed your are, while the bigger rooms are the opposite with mess light. I wanted to create another way to access the Monument instead of walking through the building, so there is a public way surrounding the Museum for people to access. I also wanted visitors to get more sense of the island so I created these skylight boxes for visitors to experience.
