If you asked me five years ago, I would never have imagined this day would come. It is unfortunate that we are graduating under these conditions, however it is not a proper reflection of the incredible time I spent at NJIT. When I started, I was a weird, somewhat shy and very insecure person, but going to school here has grounded me and made me confident, talented and secure in my own value. I would have never made it this far without the incredible friends I made -- getting ramen gami, scrambling to the last second to finish our projects and of course, surprising the all-nighters by showing up at 6 am. Additionally without my supportive family and my indispensable boyfriend, I would not have grown into who I am today, being confident and proud of myself. Soundscape
Soundscape, located in Marcus Garvey park of Harlem New York City, is your time warping retreat to hear the sweet sounds of music from the past. Come at the right time and you'll dance along flappers and true jazz bands of the 1920s. It's also possible you'll be entranced by the psychedelic liquid light shows from the 1960s, or maybe you'll get caught up in the scandals which unfolded on stage in 1980s. If music isn't your thing, there is always room to chill out and hang up on the playscape. But it will be hard to distance yourself from the rhythm and groove flooding this community center. Watch out! You’ll catch the beat in your feet!
