Angela Micevska
Angela Micevska was born in a small town in R.Macedonia, Bitola. She is the older child of two and a first generation college student. In search of a better life and education, her parents brought her and her sister to the United States a few years ago, sacrificing everything and starting over, far away from their homeland. Angela’s journey has been full of obstacles, but she’s overcome them one by one, until she reached her ultimate goal, acquiring a Bachelor of Architecture. Along the road, she has worked in a few different industries that have given her a well-rounded work experience. She is currently an Architectural intern in a small firm that is focused on small to medium residences. Angela is now working towards her Architect license and hopes to gain a more diverse experience that will help her to one day have her own firm.
Nostrand Hype Development
This development located in East Flatbush, Brooklyn includes mixed-income housing, commercial/retail tenants, and community spaces with an emphasis on developing solutions to simultaneously sustain and grow the community. This project maximizes the number of residential units and provides multiple housing typologies. In the residential portion, 20% of the units are dedicated to senior living, 30% to affordable housing, and 50% are market rate units. The challenge of the project was finding a design solution that would work around a property with an existing house that could not be purchased by the developer.
