Newark City Model

The model and larger exhibition are intended as an educational tool to assist educators, community development organizations, and city planning officials explain and explore the full extent of the city’s physical character, providing context for discussions of urban redevelopment.  As Newark Planning Officer Christopher Watson, a PhD candidate in Hillier’s Urban Systems doctoral program, notes, “This is the first place I take visitors to City Hall, to orient them to the character and history of our city.” Pictured here the model team.
