In a crowded city that desperately needs green oases, Dale Chihuly creates a center of vibrant culture and natural landscaping at the Sacca della Misericordia in Venice.  This project focuses on developing a structure to house his glassworks, including artist studios, factory hotshops, and gallery museums. It is located on the last remaining piece of the marina that still stands incomplete.  The proposal is essentially an occupiable green roof that slopes evenly across the site, breathing life back into the dense cityscape.  It takes into consideration its surrounding context by connecting the fundamental and the existing pedestrian access point.
