The Tree of Life is not only symbolic throughout many cultures to represent good tidings and a prosperous life, but also representational of life as we know it. From my interpretation of the legend of the Tree of Life, everything is inner connected to each other by the tree top canopy’s that provides protection over the biomes. Along with the tree, another important aspect of protection is the oceanic jetty system that is naturally formed to create a barrier to protect the shoreline and the ecosystems within the area. Coupled with the protection of the Tree of Life and the naturally formed jetty’s, my project was born. It combines the natural, organic form of a root system along with the harsh, geometric rock like shape enclosure to encapsulate the museum with glass like a botanical garden.
