The Chanin building is a 56 story Art Deco landmark building constructed in 1928. Diaz Architect & Associates, P.C. has been engaged in the multi-phase façade restoration at the Chanin Building. Phase 1 was completed in 2015 and included restoration and/or or partial reconstruction of the main roof penthouse parapet, terra cotta buttresses and wall, cantilever lanterns and terra cotta and brick corners. For Phase 2, Diaz Architect & Associates, P.C. prepared a design plan that included repairs at the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors. Diaz Architect & Associates, P.C. worked with the New York City Landmark Preservation Commission for the Phase 2 work.
