“Holding Pattern”, designed initially for MoMA PS1 and won the 2011 Young Architects Program, dwelled on the idea of recycling. However, instead of “reusing” the existing design, the design team started from defining the reuses to create the project in the first place. After it was de-installed from the courtyard of MoMA PS1, parts of the project were delivered to their intended homes.

Summer 2011: We designed and built chaise lounges, benches, and stools, and “held” them in MoMA PS1’s courtyard.
