Winners of the 2012 Dean’s Design Competition for High School Students Announced

The awards ceremony for the 2012 Dean’s Design Competition for High School Students was held on Wednesday, March 21 in the Gallery in Weston Hall at the College of Architecture and Design. Certificates were awarded to nine honorable mentions and prizes were awarded for first, second and third place winners. A scholarship to the Summer Architecture +Design overnight program at the College was awarded to the third place winner. A 32 GB iPod plus a scholarship to the Summer Architecture + Design weeklong summer program was awarded to the second place winner. And a  64 GB iPod plus a scholarship to the Summer Architecture + Design weeklong summer program was awarded to the first place winner. Certificates and prizes were distributed at the ceremony which was followed by a buffet reception adjacent to the Gallery.  Seventy-five students entered the competition from eleven different high schools. All of the entries were exhibited in the Gallery throughout the ceremony. Students, parents, and teachers all were welcomed at the event.

The summer programs are held every summer at the College, in a state of the art university setting, for exceptional high school students who are interested in the architecture and design fields.
