CoAD Advisory Board

The CoAD Advisory Board is a body of informed professionals representing the design and construction industry in the metropolitan area.  All are CEOs or partners in design, construction and real estate firms, an imposing group of leading players in the building and design community. The purpose of the professional Advisory Board is to help set the direction for the future of the College and to provide career advice to our students through small group encounters. Our board members represent a broad range of professional and societal perspectives which help us to formulate the kind of education programs that appropriately anticipate the needs of the profession, the industry and our society.

Ten years ago, the College expanded from its historical roots as the New Jersey School of Architecture by adding programs in Interior Design, Industrial Design, and Digital Design. As our graduates infiltrate these fields, it is important that our Advisory Board reflects the full range of educational degree programs and career tracks in the College, a process now underway.

Mr. Aluotto is president of NK Architects, a 37 year old mid-sized regional firm serving the New York and New Jersey metropolitan markets with an expertise in education, health care, mixed use development and cultural centers.

Ron Beit
CEO, RBH Group,

Mr. Beit is the founding partner and CEO of RBH Group, LLC, and president of RBH Management, LLC, asset and property management companies. His companies acquires, develops, rehabilitates and operates commercial and residential real estate.

Kenneth Colao '77
President, CNY Group

Mr. Colao is President of CNY Group, a NYC based construction company specializing in designing and building hotels in Manhattan.

Peter Gluck
President, GLUCK+

Gluck’s firm is a NYC based architectural firm which also integrates construction management into its practice.  They have designed and built schools, residences, religious buildings, hotels and offices throughout the United States. (www.gluckplus.com)

Mr. Jarmel is the Principal of Jarmel, Kizel, Architects & Engineers, a regional firm which provides architectural and engineering services, project management, interior design services and zoning board and code consultation. He also serves as President of the NJSOA Dean’s Executive Council, an alumni organization.

Ms. Perantoni is the Principal of SSP Architectural Group, which specializes in educational facility planning.  Ms. Perantoni received the 1998 Outstanding Achievement Award presented by the Council of Educational Facility Planners, International, and the “Excellence in Design” Citation from the National School Boards Association Journal, Learning by Design. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Council of Educational Facility Planners, International. A Principal of SSP, Ms. Perantoni holds a Masters in Architecture, 1982, from Rice University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and Urban Planning, 1978, from Princeton University.

Mr. Ruga heads Northeast Precast, which manufactures and installs precast concrete products for commercial and residential projects in  New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York and Maryland.
